August marks the end of the summer months. Being the end of summer, a handful of bugs won't be around starting next month! So get out there! August is also the month of fireworks, so let's end our summer enjoying the show with some friends. !Events enclude:!

  • Big Cloud Season (All month) - Between the hours of 9am and 3pm, you might see large clouds in your sky. So look up every once in a while!
  • Fireworks Season (All month) - Drop by the Nooklings' Shop to pick up your very own fireworks to set off.
  • Fireworks Show (Every Sunday) - Every Sunday between 7pm and midnight, fireworks will light up the night sky. Drop by the event plaza to receive some shiny accessories from Isabelle! Crazy Redd will also sell you Redd's Cookies for 500 Bells, for a chance to win some rare items.
  • Shaved Ice from Mom (August 8) - Your mom will send you a Shave-Ice Maker on this day, so check your mailbox!
  • Obon (August 15 or 16) Japan - The Bon Festival is a day to honor the spirits of your ancestors, so reflect on them before going to the event plaza to receive an Eggplant Cow or Cucumber Horse, between 6am and midnight.
  • Bug-Off (Third Saturday) - Go out there and catch some bugs! Nat will be waiting at the Plaza. Bring him bugs based on rarity, size, and color. Getting a high score in this tournament is the only way to net yourself the Insect Series. See the main page for more details.
